In November of 300, Himitsu Tomoshige set out on a pretty dangerous journey to talk to Aizin Suzume, directly disobeying Minoru Tadeki's order not to go. The talk accomplishes many things and confirms many of his suspicions about the causes of the war. He has left Neliti a few days ago and is on his way back to report.

PG-13 for combat and death. About 1,140 words. Cross-posted to my journal.

The lyfameul is the kind of tree preferred by Elvish families for their homes. It is the largest tree in Toisian, sometimes reaching 300 feet tall and with branch systems that can spread horizontally even wider than its height, supported by aerial prop-roots.

Some random facts about Toisian's Elves, partially spawned by a conversation with sakuratsukikage last night.

This, like so much else, will be a part of the ginormous Seiva War history thingy. Wrote it a couple years ago, and just this evening dug it up, did some edits, tweaked the ending slightly for a more consistent point of view. Almost 1750 words, PG-13? for combat/killing.

On May 12th of 302, Himitsu Katorou gives the order to his lieutenant, Himitsu Kaida, and her company to attack a small Aizin outpost where one of their generals is believed to be hiding with an elite but small personal guard. They depart on the morning of the 13th.

As things progress and more fic is posted, I'm thinking of putting together a database-type post for cataloguing fic, but I don't know if that would be redundant (given that tags make it pretty easy to search for them). Anyone with compelling arguments either way?

Also, the aforementioned information-post with who writes what characters and what they're okay with in terms of fic sounds like it is generally supported, so we should get to that. What information do you want to see on it?

It's writing time. Here's my first thingy for the theme set that sakuratsukikage and I are doing. If anyone is curious, said set can be found at 31_days; it is the set of 28 prompts for this month, February. Obviously we're not doing the suggested schedule.

This is set slightly before the end of the Seiva war, during which Midori was a doctor on the Minoru side, during the disease outbreak that overtook both sides of soldiers toward the end of the war and the time she spent tending to and trying to save the life of Kaida's brother Katorou (an endeavor in which she eventually failed, tragically enough).  Midori was fairly depressed after the end of the war, for a wide variety of reasons, so I hope this still makes sense in that context.

Elvish is the language spoken by the elves that live on the southern half of the continent. It is partially tonal, inflected, and has extremely flexible word order. It utilizes 24 phonemes, represented with an alphabet of 17 symbols, most of which represent two phonemes, distinguished by their position in the word.

Here's the first draft of the Minoru side of the first chapter. I have most of the rest done, as well, but there are a few bits missing from the middle. I want to get this out, though, and get some input, so here it is!
